Great Wall Motors' highly anticipated Shanhai Cannon Hi4-T has officially been launched recently, offering three configurations with an official guide price starting at 226,800 yuan. The new vehicle measures 5440/1991/1945mm in length, width and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 3350mm and a cargo box size of 1500×1520×500mm. It is positioned as a plug-in hybrid pickup with hardcore off-road capabilities.

In terms of exterior design, the Shanhai Cannon Hi4-T adopts a rather rugged style. The front face features a polygonal air intake grille with a horizontal bar structure inside. The blackened headlight clusters are connected to the grille and incorporate matrix LED light sources. The lower bumper uses thick black trim panels, with a winch and tow hook integrated in the center. The right A-pillar is equipped with a snorkel, providing a maximum wading depth of 900mm.

The side profile features a standard double-row pickup body style with a flat roofline and roof rails. The through-type waistline adds a sense of layering, while the wheel arches and side skirts both use thick black protective panels. The wheels feature a two-tone multi-spoke design. At the rear, the vertically arranged blackened taillights have a strong three-dimensional effect. The lower bumper is likewise a thick black trim panel with integrated fog lights and a reserved tow hook position, and the exhaust is hidden.

The interior continues Great Wall's family design, equipped with a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a full digital instrument cluster, a floating central control screen and an electronic gear shifter. A grab handle is provided in front of the passenger seat, emphasizing the vehicle's hardcore character.

The Shanhai Cannon Hi4-T is powered by a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 2.0T engine and an electric motor, with a combined maximum system power of 300kW and a combined peak torque of 750N·m, paired with a 9AT transmission. Its battery pack has a capacity of 37.1kWh, providing an NEDC pure electric range of up to 115 kilometers and a combined range exceeding 1000 kilometers, and it supports 50kW fast charging. The mechanical four-wheel-drive system is paired with three differential locks, supporting multiple drive modes including AWD, 2H, 4H and 4L, while also offering crawl mode and tank turn functionality.

Overall, the Shanhai Cannon Hi4-T combines the rugged pickup exterior, payload capacity and off-road equipment with the power performance, pure electric range and long-distance driving capability brought by the plug-in hybrid system, making it a new option in this segment. As for its actual on-road driving, off-road performance and energy consumption economy, we can wait for subsequent real-vehicle experience.
